Can an appetizer with the caloric equivalent of 13 Krispy Kreme doughnuts be justified? No. The 2,710-calorie Awesome Blossom has been purged from Chili's menu--maybe the fat-drenched appetizer couldn't withstand the scrutiny of being named to the Eat This, Not That! list of the Worst Foods in America last year. CANADIANS REVEAL THEIR FAVOURITE FOODS

Dietitians of Canada has just released the results of a new Ipsos Reid survey revealing that Canadians favourite foods are as diverse as Canadians themselves. When asked to name their favorite regional foods, Canadians across the country chose different foods as their favourites. British Columbians were more likely to indicate fresh vegetables (11%), while Albertans were most likely to choose beef (20%). Residents of Saskatchewan and Manitoba named corn on the cob (12%) while more Ontarians preferred apples (14%) than any other food. Quebecers were most likely to pick cheese (12%), while Atlantic Canadians chose lobster (12%) as their local favorite food. Of all foods produced in Canada, the favourite foods identified by Canadians were beef (13%), apples (6%), corn on the cob (5%), potatoes (4%), cheese (4%) and maple syrup (4%).
